Kiwi co-founder Mohit Bedi steps down
Mohit Bedi, co-founder of credit-on-UPI fintech firm Kiwi, has left his post as chief business officer (CBO) and shifted to an advisory role at the company, according to two people in the know.
Bedi, who is stepping down due to personal reasons, will remain with the company till July this year, after which, he is likely to exit the company he co-founded with Anup Aggarwal and Siddharth Mehta in 2022.
Informed sources also said that Bedi will retain his equity stake in Kiwi. He is likely to launch a new firm in the fintech sector.
“Mohit Bedi, co-founder of Kiwi, has decided to step down from his executive role due to personal and family commitments. He will retain a significant equity stake in the company, reflecting his confidence and support in the long-term growth of Kiwi. The leadership team and strategic priorities will remain unchanged,” Kiwi said in a statement to Business Standard.
Bedi previously worked at fintech PayU and Axis Bank. At Axis Bank, he was Senior Vice President (SVP) and Business Head – Acquisitions and Commercial Cards.
He previously told Business Standard that he founded Kiwi Drawing from his experience in cards and payments. The company enables UPI transactions and offers credit-based use cases on the platform.
It has partnered with four banks; AU Small Finance Bank, Yes Bank, Axis Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB). Kiwi claims to have issued over two lakh credit cards through its platform in partnership with lenders.
Last month, the firm had appointed industry leader Sumeet Basrani as its CBO.
In 2025, it raised $24 million in a Series B funding round led by Vertex Ventures South East Asia and India. The round also saw participation from Nexus Venture Partners, Stellaris Venture Partners and Omidyar Network.
It raised $13 million in a Series A funding round in November 2023. With the Series B round, the company has raised a total of $43 million in funding.
CEO Anup Aggarwal told Business Standard last year that the company was targeting profitability in two years.
