India ready to return to Zimbabwe
India are set to tour Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series in Harare, marking their return to the African nation after a gap of two years. Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed the schedule on Wednesday, with all matches to be played at the Harare Sports Club. Given India’s strong global popularity and Zimbabwe’s steady rise in white-ball cricket, the series is expected to attract significant attention.
It also continues the growing bilateral partnership between the two countries, which comes on the heels of Zimbabwe’s announcement of a scheduled tour of India in 2027.
Series schedule and venue details
The three-match T20I series will be held entirely in Harare, with the matches taking place on July 23, 25 and 26. All games will take place at Harare Sports Club and will kick off at 1pm local time.

First meeting after the 2024 tour
This will be India’s first tour of Zimbabwe since July 2024, when the two sides played a five-match T20I series. Since then, there have been changes in the personnel and approach of both teams, especially in the T20 format. Their most recent encounter came during the Super Eights stage of the T20 World Cup, where India registered an impressive 72-run win after posting a strong total.

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni described the series as an important opportunity for the hosts. He said that the matches against India continue to attract keen interest and the Zimbabwean players gain valuable experience. With encouraging performances in recent ICC tournaments, Zimbabwe will be looking to use this series as a stepping stone to establish themselves in international cricket.
