IPL 2026: RR probable playing 11
The inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Rajasthan Royals (RR), after barely avoiding finishing bottom of the table last year, are now going into IPL 2026 with a revamped squad hoping to end their 18-year wait to win their second title.
RR will have a new leader in Riyan Parag, while the addition of Ravindra Jadeja will give them much-needed experience in the middle order. Their biggest strength will once again be the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, while they have a settled bowling attack.

How could RR’s playing 11 be in IPL 2026?
Top order: After a stellar debut season in 2025 and impressive performances in Under-19 cricket, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is expected to open the innings for RR alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in IPL 2026.
While captain Riyan Parag had said last season that he liked to play at number four, he is likely to play at number three due to his middle-order position.
Middle order: For RR, Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel are likely to lead the middle-order once again in 2026.
Lower middle order: In the lower middle order, RR are expected to have their big signing Ravindra Jadeja, who joined the franchise via trade option from Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
He was initially expected to partner Sam Curran, but following his injury, Donovan Ferreira or Dasun Shanaka – both capable middle-order batsmen who can score quickly and bowl a few overs – could be involved.
Bowler: RR’s bowling department in IPL 2026 is expected to be led by Jofra Archer, Sandeep Sharma and Nandre Berger as fast bowlers. Vignesh Puthur, who impressed with his bowling in the last edition for Mumbai Indians (MI), may be handed the role of specialist spinner.
Influential players: RR are expected to follow the same impact player strategy that they used last year, with Yudhveer Singh Charak coming in as a batting backup if the team loses early wickets. Alternatively, they can include Tushar Deshpande as an additional fast bowler.
