Wisdom Islamic Youth lashes out at Kanthapuram for relic claims
The Wisdom Islamic Youth Organisation has lashed out at All India Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar and the Sunni group he leads for ‘bringing disrepute to the Muslim community’ by making outlandish claims about a relic from Prophet Muhammed.
Mr. Aboobacker Musliar recently claimed that Prophet Muhammed’s hair that he possessed had grown by a few millimetres.
The Wisdom Islamic Youth Organisation’s State council, adopting a resolution titled ‘no forgiveness for clergy over fake hair,’ accused Mr. Aboobacker Musliar of exploiting the Prophet’s relic for financial gain.
“None in the land where Prophet Muhammed lived makes such claims. This is nothing but financial exploitation,” they said. “Claiming something like this in today’s age, with all the tools available to verify authenticity and age, is nothing but mocking the intellectual maturity of Malayalis.”
The Wisdom group called upon the Muslim youth to challenge the attempts to commercialise the community by undermining its critical thinking.
It warned the community to be wary of the clergy’s efforts to steer them away from genuine scriptures and truth.
Wisdom Islamic Organisation State secretary Haris Bin Salim inaugurated the discussion. Wisdom Youth State general secretary T.K. Nishad Salafi presided over the function.
Wisdom Leaders Faisal Moulavi, K. Thajudheen Swalahi, PP NaseEf, Moosa Swalahi and Abdurahoof Alhikami Spoke.
