Siddheswara Swamy temple to get facelift

The groundbreaking ceremony of the ancient Sri Siddheswara Swamy temple in Talakona forest in Tirupati district, which is all set to get a facelift, was performed on Monday. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani and Tirupati District Collector S. Venkateswar participated in the ‘bhumi puja’ performed for the first phase of renovation works.
Mr. Naidu said that the State government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has taken up a massive initiative towards construction and renovation of ancient temples as part of ‘Sanatana Dharma’ promotion. “The first phase of works will cover the sanctum sanctorum, Ardha Mandapam, Sri Parvati Devi’s sanctum sanctorum and Maha Mandapam at the Sri Siddheswara Swamy temple complex,” he said.
The TTD had already sanctioned ₹2 crore for these works, as approved by the State government, while additional financial support would be provided in a phased manner as well as for civic amenities.
