GBA Chief instructs officials to conduct Special Summary Revision of voter list across Bengaluru without any lapses
Bengaluru District Election Officer and Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Friday instructed officials to conduct the Special Summary Revision of the voter list of 2025 across the city without any lapses. He said that complaints related to the voter list must be addressed promptly and requested information should be provided to political parties immediately.
The Special Summary Revision for 2025 comes amidst allegations of electoral roll manipulation by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking at a meeting with party representatives at the GBA central office, Mr. Rao said that the revision process is being carried out in 8,972 polling stations across Bengaluru district, following the directives of the Election Commission of India.
“Preparations for the exercise are already under way. Meetings have been held at the levels of Additional District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers, and political party representatives have been asked to participate in constituency-level discussions led by Electoral Registration Officers,” Mr. Rao added.
Mr. Rao further said that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) overseeing the revision have been instructed to work even on holidays, with all necessary arrangements in place. Political parties have also been asked to actively participate and appoint booth agents to support the process. Special camps will be organised to facilitate the revision process, and meetings will be held every 15 days to share updates and information, he said.
