GBA chief directs to initiate Sociol and Educational Survey at the earliest

Government favours local body polls with a GO on BC reservations

Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao on Wednesday directed officials to initiate the Sociol and Educational Survey in the GBA limits at the earliest.

Chairing a virtual meeting of the Backward Classes Commission, the GBA Chief instructed enumerators from various departments to begin fieldwork without delay after undergoing training at respective urban corporations.

Mr. Rao said that the survey must be carried out in coordination with all civic departments and called for the involvement of ASHA workers, who will receive training from certified trainers. “Nodal officers have been appointed to supervise the survey work, while corporation commissioners have been tasked with inspecting training sites,” he said, warning that disciplinary action would be taken under the Survey Act against those failing to participate.

GBA Special Commissioner Munish Moudgil said that additional enumerators are being deployed and ward-level plans have been drawn up to ensure accuracy. Random checks will be conducted during the exercise to monitor the progress of the survey.
